How can grounding improve your health? Physically AND Mentally. Read my 2 cent's worth...
Some may say that these past two years were absolutely terrible, but I tend to disagree. If you can see through the fog and notice the silver lining you will be filled with renewed awe and joy.
Now is exactly the right time to ditch the electronics and reconnect with nature and your family. There are no more excuses now - with ‘lockdown’ restrictions, it forces us to RE-CONNECT. Just what we need! If you live in a small apartment make time to go play in a park, or go on a mini hike in the mountains nearby. But GET OUTSIDE!
Absorb the healing rays from the sun and let all the negativity be reabsorbed through the earth’s surface. In other words, ground yourself.
This seemingly simple act is of utmost importance for your and your family’s health, physically and mentally. Scientific studies have proved incredible results obtained from what we call ‘grounding’ or ‘earthing’.
According to Science Direct it is a crucial element that is grossly overlooked and this practice needs to be recommended by more therapists and doctors to help heal their patients and clients. “Some 20 studies to date have reported intriguing evidence of wide and significant physiological improvements when the body is grounded vs. non-grounded…..deserves inclusion in the clinical practice of preventive, alternative, and lifestyle medicine and has great potential to render these approaches more effective.”
When your body makes contact with the Earth's natural electric charges, it stabilizes the physiology at the deepest levels, reduces inflammation, pain, and stress, improves blood flow, energy, and sleep, and generates greater well-being.
Grounding is as simple as routinely walking barefoot outdoors. It is absolutele magic for getting rid of stress, anxiety and depression.
Ideas for the whole family:
1. Fun, explorative walks in nature.
If you can, do it barefoot or at least take your shoes off when you sit down to rest. Make a list of items to find, like a leaf, a rock, twig, shell, feather, acorn etc. This will also assist with creating mindfulness.
2. Plant some seed and watch it grow.
This activity can even be done in a small apartment. Choose a herb or a healing flower, like an easy-to-grow Nasturium seed. Make sure to get your hands really dirty in the soil. If you can do it outdoors, barefoot, even better! Water, nurture and love the seed, teach them what is happening as you watch it grow.
3. Submerging in water Floating or swimming in water is just as effective, so get the whole family to go swim in the ocean, a river or a stream. Pack a picnic basket with fresh organic food and snacks. Always keep the little ones safe around water!
Let’s focus on all the positive possibilities and maintain calmness as we go through these turbulent times! Go and have FUN!
